Second Chance Thoroughbreds, Inc.

Second Chance Thoroughbreds, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Spencer, New York, dedicated to retraining and re-homing retired thoroughbred racehorses. Horses are assessed and given downtime before starting a retraining program suited to their physical and mental strengths. Training covers balance at the walk, trot and canter, poles and cross rails, and small jumping courses, with some horses moving into dressage or trail riding. The organization runs horse adoption and works to show the public how versatile thoroughbreds are through clinics, shows and community events.
