Pricing questions
- Does Hoofine charge a subscription?
- Only if you want a verified badge — those are optional monthly or yearly subscriptions you can cancel anytime. The marketplace itself is free: Hoofine earns from optional visibility boosts and a transparent fee when a protected transaction completes.
- Who pays the escrow fee — buyer or seller?
- Both sides, transparently split. The buyer pays 3% on top of the agreed price, shown at checkout before committing. The seller pays 4.8% plus a $69.99 service fee, deducted from the payout at release ($24.99 on sales under $2,000).
- What happens if the sale is cancelled?
- Funds are refunded to the buyer in full, including the buyer fee. Hoofine does not keep transaction fees on refunded or disputed sales. Application fees for business and horse verification are non-refundable, as they cover the document review itself.
- What happens if I cancel a badge subscription?
- The badge comes off at the end of the paid period. Re-subscribe within 12 months and it comes straight back without re-verification; after a longer lapse, a fresh verification is required. You only pay an application fee again if you request a new document review.
- Are there international fees?
- We support cross-border payments in USD, EUR and GBP. Currency conversion is passed through at Stripe's wholesale rate — Hoofine does not mark it up.
