In their own words.
After The Homestretch AZ is a non-profit racehorse aftercare organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. It takes in former racehorses, including some from the Arizona Department of Agriculture and from owners who can no longer care for them. Each horse goes through reconditioning, retraining for new disciplines such as dressage and jumping or for pleasure riding, and re-homing with screened adopters. The organization is run by volunteers and offers ongoing support to adoptive families.
