Wattritte & Ausritte Cuxhaven Martin Hornig

Reiterhof Kuestenlaemmel, run by the Hornig family, offers guided trail rides along the North Sea coast near Cuxhaven, on well-trained, home-schooled horses in small groups. Rides explore the vast coastal heathland along a 60 km bridle-path network, with chances to spot wild horses, Heck cattle and bison, and several tours cross the tidal mudflats of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park. The signature experience is a 4-5 hour tidal crossing to the island of Neuwerk, including a rest stop before returning to Sahlenburg. Riders must be confident in all three gaits and wear appropriate riding attire; the farm also runs a pony club and holiday apartments.
