The British Show Horse Association

The British Show Horse Association was founded in 1935 by owners and supporters of show hacks and cobs, later adding riding horses and other light horse sections. It runs affiliated showing classes at shows across the country, from local shows to major championship shows. The association holds its own National Championships, a Spring Show and a London International Showing Series. It also encourages the breeding of show animals and runs judges assessments and clinics.

STAGBI, the Standardbred and Trotting Horse Association of Great Britain and Ireland, is a recognised breed society that maintains the Standardbred Studbook. It is a government-approved Passport Issuing Organisation for equine identification. Members can register horses, transfer ownership, license stallions and arrange imports and exports. The society also runs mares' races, the STAGBI British Championships and the SbORT awards for Standardbreds in second careers.
