Edgeworth Polo Club is a family-run polo club near Stroud, founded in the 1970s. It has four full-size match grounds, three practice fields and more than 100 horses on site. It offers full livery, grazing, breeding, training and schooling, and runs a season of polo tournaments.
UK Ponies & Horses is a showing society for ponies and horses, founded in its current form in 2020. It offers rider and adult memberships, horse and pony registration and show affiliation. It holds the membership rights to RIHS qualifying classes and runs its own shows. Its history goes back to the Ponies of Britain society formed in 1950.
The Showing Council was established in 2006 with the British Equestrian Federation. It unites showing organisations and breed societies to promote showing as a sport. It now has twenty member bodies and is a BEF Associate Member.
Southern Counties Heavy Horse Association has supported heavy horses since 1947. It brings together owners, handlers, volunteers and supporters of working heavy horses. Its activities cover ploughing, harnessing, driving, showing, timber work and ridden heavy horses. Members do not need to own a heavy horse.
The Event Horse Owners Association is a membership organisation for owners of eventing horses. Members use owner facilities at major UK events and network with other owners. It runs leagues, a prize fund and annual awards, and represents owners to British Eventing.
The Arab Horse Society of Great Britain was formed in 1918 as a charity. It aims to preserve and improve the standard of horses and ponies, with particular reference to the Arab horse. It keeps the stud book and registrations, lists stallions at stud and runs shows including a national show. It also trains and lists judges.
The Pleasure Horse Society is a membership society formed in 2003. It promotes ownership of leisure horses and ponies and offers occasional advice and comment. It no longer issues horse passports, which are handled by the Horse Passport Agency.
The South Wales Shire Horse Society was set up in 1983 to improve and promote the breeding of Shire horses. It holds an annual show.
Adventure Riding Club is a British Riding Clubs affiliated club for riders of all ages and abilities. Its showground is in Barnby, Suffolk. It runs events and ARC tests for members.
The Fjord Horse National Studbook Association of Great Britain is the breed society for the Fjord horse in Great Britain. It keeps the stud book and issues horse passports. It works with the Norwegian stud book authority to uphold breeding standards.
The Dartmoor Pony Society is the breed society for the Registered Dartmoor Pony, and a registered charity. It maintains the stud book, registers ponies and issues passports. It welcomes new members and works with affiliated societies worldwide.
The Equine Shiatsu Association (tESA) is the professional body for equine shiatsu in the UK and Europe. It sets standards for practice and teaching. It keeps a register of qualified practitioners in Scotland, England and Europe.
The WorldWide Association of Equine Dentistry is an independent association of equine dentists. Members must follow its code of conduct and pass its internal examinations. It offers DEFRA/RCVS approved Category 2 exams and continuing professional development. All members carry insurance and are listed in its dentist directory.
Cool Hooves Polo is a polo academy based at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. It offers stick and ball sessions, private, shared and group polo lessons with Hurlingham Polo Association-accredited coaches. It also manages club members' polo, ponies and teams, and runs polo experiences, corporate events and livery.
Ham Polo Club, founded in 1926, is London's last remaining polo club, set on 23 acres beside Richmond Park and Ham House. It offers polo lessons for adults and juniors with riding experience, as well as riding lessons. The clubhouse also hosts social events.
Ash Farm Polo is a polo club in the Surrey countryside established in 1995 by Paul and Lesley Sweeney. It welcomes players from beginners to professionals and has purpose-built facilities, including arena polo.
Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club, home of Ashfields Equestrian Trust, is set in 500 acres near Great Canfield, Dunmow, Essex. It offers equestrian facilities for many disciplines and hosts events. Training is available with horse driving trials competitor Wilf Bowman-Ripley.
The Racehorse Owners Association represents racehorse owners in British racing. It offers membership for individual, syndicate and racing club owners. Member benefits include racecourse entry, third-party liability insurance and sponsorship for racing activities. It also publishes guidance for people new to racehorse ownership.
Binfield Heath Polo Club near Henley-on-Thames has two irrigated pitches and runs a 0-8 goal fixture list. Lessons, pony hire and liveries are available. Facilities include a wooden horse, a stick and ball ground and an arena. The club was founded in 1994.
Kirtlington Park Polo Club is a polo club in Oxfordshire founded in 1926. It is one of the largest low-goal polo clubs in the UK. The club runs tournaments, chukkas, club membership and learn to play polo. It also hosts events, corporate days and sponsorship.
Letcombe Regis Riding Club is a not-for-profit community equestrian facility established in 1977. Facilities include a large field, a 50m x 30m all-weather arena, cross-country schooling jumps and a grass dressage arena. It gives access to the Ridgeway and local bridleways and welcomes riders of all ages and abilities.
The Racehorse Transporters Association is the trade association for racehorse transporters and UK and Irish shipping agents. It sits on the British Horseracing Authority Industry Committee and works with the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association. Its council advises members and prospective members on all aspects of horse transport, including the law.
Silver Leys Polo Club in Little Hadham is a polo club that hosts tournament weekends and family events. It is home to the Hertfordshire Polo Academy, which gives polo lessons. It also offers stables and livery.
Longdole Polo Club is a family polo club near Brimpsfield, between Cheltenham and Cirencester. It aims to make polo affordable and accessible and offers lessons through its academy team. Professional player Mikey Howe keeps his string of ponies at the club.
