Reiterverein Alvern e.V. is a riding club near Munster in the Lüneburg Heath, founded in 1973 after operating as a section of the neighbouring Soltau club. Its show ground at the Heidberg has hosted regional and state championships for juniors and young riders. The club expanded the site in 2002 with a purpose-built show building housing jump material, catering and the entry office, followed by a new judges' tower in 2007. Youth development is its central concern: talented riders up to the age of 16 are taken into structured development groups each year. Club riders have competed successfully in both jumping and dressage up to advanced level and at German championships.
