Gestüt Hämelschenburg - Beate Langels

Gestüt Hämelschenburg is a Trakehner stud at Emmerthal in the Weserbergland, about 50 km south of Hannover. It was founded in the early 1960s by Otto and Jutta Langels and has been led by Beate Langels since. Breeding runs on a band of twelve to thirteen selected broodmares drawn from the strongest Trakehner mare families, among them DLG winners, elite mares and championship winners. Stallion rearing has always been a particular focus, and 65 licensed stallions have grown up on the Hämelschenburg pastures. The stud also operates an insemination station, sells breeding and riding horses, and hosts an annual foal show.
