Schepershof, run by Heinz-Dieter and Martina Backhaus, is an Icelandic horse farm in Buchholz (Aller), on the southern edge of the Lüneburger Heide in the Aller-Leine valley. The farm breeds and sells Icelandic horses, keeps stallions available for stud, and offers boarding for privately owned horses. A riding school on site provides instruction for riders of all levels, set amid the forests, farmland, heath, and moorland typical of the region. Schepershof combines traditional Icelandic-horse breeding with hands-on riding tuition and full-service boarding.
