Reit- und Therapiezentrum Kastanienhof

Reit- und Therapiezentrum Kastanienhof at Lauenhagen in Lower Saxony offers horse-assisted therapy and riding education for children, adolescents and adults. It is run by Melanie Smaka, a licensed Heilpraktikerin and riding therapist, and provides trauma-informed support, horse-assisted psychotherapy, body-oriented riding therapy and work on development and self-regulation. Alongside the therapeutic side the centre teaches riding and equestrian pedagogy, including pony groups for very young children and liberty work. Retreats, seminars, coaching and holiday courses round out the programme, and the team works with referring agencies and funding bodies.
