REINS, short for Riding Emphasizing Individual Needs and Strengths, runs a therapeutic riding program in Fallbrook, California. Its mission is to support the physical, mental and emotional health of disabled children and adults through equine-assisted activities. Riders take part in lessons based on their interests and needs, and the program works on skills such as fine and gross motor coordination. The program keeps its own herd of horses and relies on volunteers to help with lessons. It operates as a non-profit organization.
