Paardenverkenners is an education programme in Ewijk that teaches children aged 5 to 15 about horses and horse welfare. It trains instructors to become guides who use its horse-friendly lesson method, with open stabling and no bits or horseshoes. Lessons cover cooperation, feeding, hoof care, anatomy and behaviour, mostly working with the horse from the ground. Guides join a community to share lesson ideas, and a map shows riding schools and pony clubs using the method.
