Helpende Hoeven is a recognised hippotherapy centre near Maaseik run by physiotherapist Fiona Dreezen. Therapy with the horses targets physical, orthopedagogical and social goals for children from about age 4 and adults with physical or mental disabilities or developmental disorders. Sessions are individual, weekly or fortnightly, and take place beside or on the horse. The herd includes Haflinger, Shetland and Appaloosa ponies and horses.
