Beterdier is an animal practice for osteopathy and complementary veterinary medicine working across the northern Netherlands. Horses are treated for movement problems, back complaints, skin conditions and digestive trouble, with the practice looking for the underlying cause rather than only the visible symptom. Treatment is given at the home base in Nieuw Beerta and at partner yards including Manege HJ Cazemier in Tolbert, South Side Stables in Appelscha and Stal Oude Meerdijk in Emmen. Where it helps the case, the practice works alongside conventional vets, equine dentists, saddle fitters and behaviour therapists.
