Bear Basin Packtrips is a Colorado outfitter based at Bear Basin Ranch in the Wet Mountains near Westcliffe. Horseback riding and pack trips are listed first among its offerings, alongside hunting guides, fly fishing and whitewater rafting. The company keeps its own horses, about 60 Appaloosa and Paint horses, and all meals, tents, horses and saddles are provided for trips. Trips are tailored to each guest's experience, and staff teach less experienced riders how to saddle and mount.
