Stal Concordia

Stal Concordia is a driving stable in Scheemda, Groningen, a stone's throw from the Blauwe Stad. Its speciality is work in harness, keeping alive a regional tradition that once served farming and transport. The stable keeps classic Groninger horses native to the region alongside French Comtois draught horses, and works with them in recreational driving, marathon sport and practical land management such as horse-logging and nature conservation. Alongside livery it offers carriage hire, lessons and clinics, and supplies horse-drawn transport for weddings and funerals.

Stichting De Menacademie

De Menacademie is a Dutch driving academy founded in 2012 that trains people who work with harnessed horses across the northern Netherlands and neighbouring parts of Germany. It prepares candidates for the official Dutch driving licences for single, pair and tandem turnouts, and runs courses in carriage driving, long-lining and practical usability tests. Hardenberg Reitanlage is a full-service equestrian centre on the grounds of Schloss Hardenberg in Nörten-Hardenberg, where horses have been kept and bred for centuries. The livery operation feeds concentrate three times and hay twice a day to an individual plan for every horse, mucks out through the week and offers paddock, pasture and horse-walker options. Jumping lessons are given by an experienced trainer who also competes and builds courses, while dressage instruction runs through the week up to advanced level and is arranged individually. Reitsportverein Alpheide-Nienburg e.V. is an equestrian club in the heart of Nienburg an der Weser, based on the grounds of the Zuchtgemeinschaft Rippe-Lachnit at Reiterweg 3. Children start in the lead-rein group, learning to handle and sit on a pony through play, and many go on to vaulting, which builds balance and body awareness with a partner horse. Older children and adults take riding lessons and can work towards competing. The club has been registered since 1986 and is the organiser of the Nienburger Reiterfest, a long-running show with classes up to S* level in both jumping and dressage.

Ponyhof Gerdes is a pony and holiday farm at Oberlangen in the Emsland, run by Jürgen Gerdes for children and teenagers. Riding is the centre of a stay: lessons on ponies and horses, with or without a saddle, and guided hacks out from the yard. The farm has three outdoor arenas and two indoor schools, so riding carries on whatever the weather. Instruction is given to children from about five years of age and to adults, from complete beginners taught the correct seat on the lunge through to dressage and jumping up to class L. Anna Becke works as an animal naturopath (Tierheilpraktikerin) and mobile riding instructor at Neustadt am Rübenberge near Hanover.
