In their own words.
The Südtiroler Haflinger Pferde Sportverein is an amateur sports club founded in 1977 by Haflinger breeders to represent Haflinger racehorse owners. With around 200 members, it organises the annual provincial championships in the winter disciplines of sleigh racing and skijoring. It also runs a provincial trotting race in autumn and an autumn gallop race at the Meran racecourse. Its highlight is the traditional farmers' gallop race on Easter Monday.
