Pferdezucht Thaden is a horse breeding and boarding farm on Germany's North Sea coast in Butjadingen, in the village of Sillen near the resort of Burhave and the Niedersachsisches Wattenmeer National Park. Family-owned since 1887 and run since 1965 by owner Ekke Thaden, an international show judge, the farm breeds high-performance horses from the Lacarna and Revue Girl II bloodlines in partnership with Haras de Malleret. Horses benefit from salt-rich sea air that naturally deters flies and mosquitoes, alongside seasonal pasture boarding with small herds on large grazing areas, 24/7 outdoor access, and winter stabling with hay. The farm shares its land with cattle, dogs, cats, geese, and poultry, alongside visiting wild hares and deer.
